If they ever get the soft solar panels down in price, we could get rid of the whole plug in idea. Face it - my car could be generating a ton of electric just sitting in the parking lot right now. And you could generate power even while driving that way. You may not be able to generate enough to completely run the car on solar power, but it would be better than finding a free outlet.
